Introducing French Fixe - An Online BoutiqueSeptember 26, 2015Disclosure: Product was received for review purposes only. Any and all opinions are my own. There is a certain something about French products, or should I say a certain je ne sais quoi. They just seem better, maybe, most definitely a treat. I recently discovered French Fixe, an online boutique offering all things French. Some items include: for the kitchen; tea towels, gourmet food, herbs and accessories. Items for the bathroom include soaps, mitts, gels and lotions. Also, gift baskets and gift boxes are available, either prepackaged, or you can custom build your own. Gorgeous smelling and delicious tasting treats. Located in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City, known as the "Paris of the Plains". Shipping rates are very reasonable and much better than purchasing directly from France :) Take a look at all the great offerings French Fixe has by visiting their link below and be sure to enter our giveaway to win the best smelling Pré de Provence Bath Duo. Or should I say here: French Fixe Forum Mammanatty: How did French Fixe get started? Carla: It's hard to pinpoint one exact reason why I started French Fixe! It probably boils down to loving foreign languages. I grew up going to international schools (Bangkok and Manila). Thai was my first foreign language. I was always a little jealous of the European kids who spoke at least two languages fluently! My second foreign language was French (at my middle school in Manila, taught by a Portuguese professor!). I studied it throughout HS and college, also studying Norwegian and Spanish. One of my big regrets is not "studying abroad", but during college I was working summers at the US Embassy in London, and I became, and still am, a huge Anglophile. Mammanatty: Would you share a bit of your background? Carla: After graduating from U. of Missouri, I entered the corporate world, working in marketing and graphic design, never really loving it—ever. So to make a long story short, after my daughter graduated from high school, I spent an entire year studying French at the University of Kansas. A few months later, I traveled throughout France with a neighbor, staying at a vineyard, even selling American clothes at a local flea market in Provence. That's where we met this great French family who invited us over for lunch. That was in 2011, and they have since become treasured friends. Merci Beaucoup! Je espère que ce sera le début d'une belle amitié.
