Celebrate Summer with Fun New Card Games from Regal Games

June 19, 2021

Regal Games

Disclosure: I received these games for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

Growing up, my mum would play cards with me the most. We had loads of games we would choose from and I am not sure if she would let me win, but win I would! I grew up loving numbers, and I really believe that card games had a lot to do with that! Now, I want to play cards with my kids. We try to sit down at least once a week and have a family game night and we have been enjoying these fun card games from Regal Games.

Cards are a great way to keep the kids entertained this summer, they are easy to take on the go and can be played almost anywhere, plus they fit easily in your bag!

I love Regal Games and I love that you can view video instructions for all their card games here: instructions

Which new card game would you try first? Banapples, Scorzo, The Goodge Rules, or Spoons and a Spork?

Banapples:

Banapples

The game with twists but no turns - Box includes 4 decks of 40 cards each, scorecard sheet, and instructions.

This game is good for 2-4 people. Each player deals their own deck (or two). To start your seed pile, deal 10 cards face down with the top card face up. To start your tree's pile, deal 2 cards leaving room to grow. The objective is to grow your tree, starting with number 1, if you cannot place your top card, deal 3 cards face up till you can play a card.

A strategic family fun game and quite possibly my favorite (it reminded me of a childhood game we called sevens)!

Scorzo:

Scorzo

Scorzo is like Rummy, but with a twist - Box includes 2 decks of 56 cards, scorecard sheet, and instructions.

This game is good for 2-6 people. Dealer shuffles and deals out 8 cards to start. Players choose a card from the deck or discard pile, aiming to make melds with 3 or more of the same numbered cards or runs (1,2,3) with at least 3 cards of the same suit. Points are given for remaining cards left that are not in melds, Don't get stuck with a wild card - Its point value is 15 - Yikes! Next person deals 7 cards for the next round (check Dealing Chart for each round). The Player with the fewest points after all 11 rounds wins! SCORZO!

The Goodge Rules:

Goodge

Bid to become "The Goodge" so you can make the rules. Box includes a deck of 51 cards, scorecard sheet, and instructions.

This game is good for 3-4 people. In this game, you want to score the highest number of points, up to 500 to win! 3 cards are dealt into the stash face-down. Remaining cards are dealt evenly to all players. Review your cards and bid depending on how many points you think you will earn. Points are based on card value and tricks.

A fun family game named after The Goodge family.

Spoons and a Spork:

Spoons

How sneaky can you be? - Box includes a deck of 52 playing cards, 60 scoring cards, and instructions.

This game is good for 3-8 people. Depending on how many players also depends on how many spoons and sporks (and rounds) are placed face-down with the undealt cards. Each player is dealt 4 cards and continues to draw and discard one at a time until you collect four-of-a-kind, the first one to do so can grab a trophy card (value is +2 points), but try to avoid the spork cards because they are -2 points, spoons are +1 points. The player with the most points wins.

A fun fast-paced game and easy to learn.

Cards are a great way to have fun with friends and family! Find these games and more at regalgames.com
