A meat tenderizer is a perfect tool for pounding all types of meat, including chicken, beef, pork, and veal. We use it mainly for chicken to flatten all areas, making it even in size, to avoid overcooking or drying out the meat. Perfect for Chicken Fried Steak, one of our favorites.
We have used our handy meat tenderizer to break up nuts (Tip: put them in a baggie first so you have less mess, or wrap bigger nuts in a towel, this is much easier than trying to cut nuts with a knife), the meat tenderizer is also a great tool to crush ice, hard candy (for baking), and peppercorns. The Cave Tools Meat Tenderizer is made out of stainless steel with a silicone handle and is dishwasher safe. If you do not have a dishwasher, vinegar is a great item to use to clean your tenderizer, although wrapping meat with saran wrap or using bags will cut down on cleaning time!
