Book Review: The X by Lorena Bathey

April 17, 2013

The X

I love a book you can pick up, get interested in immediately and finish it in a weekend. Of course you do not get much else done but what an enjoyment. The X by Lorena Bathey was such a book, it grabbed my attention from the start and kept me interested all the way through to the end!

This is my first introduction to Lorena Bathey. Lorena really knows how to keep those pages turning. Enter the life of a happy housewife named Clarissa, who diligently looks after her teenage boys, husband, house and part time job at a flower shop in a suburban town outside of San Francisco. When one day, her doorbell rang, she was served with divorce papers, out of the blue.

Grateful to her boss and friends she has made at the flower shop, who steer her in the right direction. The divorce is only the start of the devious, wicked ways of her husband. Who wants everything and to give her nothing. So Clarissa fights back.

If you enjoy a good thriller that you will not be able to put down - Try The X! Lorena will shock and surprise you and keep you holding onto this book till you are finished! Great read! Great author. I will be looking for more Lorena Bathey books for sure!

Although The X was my first book by Lorena, she has over nine to choose from, including a funny memoir called Happy Beginnings about life after divorce. Also Beatrice Munson, and House on Plunkett Street are available now with three new books coming soon - find more information on her website: Lorena B Books Website
