Adopted Ed Book Review

Adopted Ed

Adopted Ed by Darren Maddern is a lovely book about a little boy and his adventures during his first few formative years, how he handles bullies, how he learns to be proud and how he is special because he is adopted. This charming book addresses big issues and is a delightful way to teach kids about adoption and overcoming obstacles, done in the popular rhyming way similar to Dr. Suess, who gets a mention.

My niece and nephew are adopted. They have known since an early age. I think they are extra special and lucky to have two families who care for them very much and now having kids of my own, I love that I have this book to help me teach them about something that touches our hearts.

After reading it to my daughter, her first word was “AGAIN” and so again it was read, he’ll get stuck in your head, that Ed. A huge hit in our house from the first read. Illustrations by Erin Fusco are nice, clean, and basic and help tell the story well.

I was selected to review this book by participating in a One2One Network campaign. Opinions are 100% mine.
