In a movie, sure to get people talking. Director Justin Lin shares the story of a missionary journey that went too far. John Allen Chau believed he was sent to North Sentinel Island to share the word of God but this island is in a state of voluntary isolation. He was not invited, in fact it is against the law to step foot on the island.
This movie left me with the belief and the importance of understanding that we should not share our opinions with just everyone and to respect that others and most especially the Sentinelese tribe deserve their peace, privacy, and protection.
About the Film:
"Last Days is based on a true story and follows 26-year-old John Allen Chau's journey to fulfill his life's mission. He embarks on a dangerous adventure across the globe to share his faith with the isolated tribe of North Sentinel Island, while a detective from the Andaman Islands races to stop him before he does harm to himself or the tribe."
This film was done really well. There are some beautiful and breathtaking scenic shots and I was happy to recognize the Dad, played by Kenneth Leung. Also starring: Sky Yang, and Radhika Apte
