Disclosure: I received this book for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

Our diet is just a part of life. So from an early age, I have tried teaching my kids how to make good food choices that feed the body, with treats in moderation. My daughter and I have found that we love flipping through books with recipes, we can get stuck sticking to what we know we like to eat and what we know our families will eat, so I enjoy researching and trying a new recipe or two. I found many in The Planet Friendly Diet book that I will be adding to our rotation, and learned a whole lot about how choosing the right food can immediately impact the environment. This is not your usual diet book.

The Planet Friendly Diet book has taught me much more that just new recipes, it has taught me the impact of over-farming, over producing, and the waste we leave behind through over consuming. Cat Smiley’s new book aims to give readers a refreshed perspective on what we put into our bodies and also what we can give back to our planet – all while losing and/or maintaining a healthy weight.

Now, please do not get me or this book wrong, I will never give up meat, and Cat does not want us to, yet she does encourage eating a lot of fish, like salmon, tuna, and tilapia and the occasional chicken dish yet really encourages a vegetarian diet overall, even just a few times a week can make a huge impact on weight and optimum health, as well as the planet.

The Planet Friendly Diet book is a 21-day guide to sustainable weight loss and optimal health and is meat, dairy, wheat and gluten-free. Designed to eliminate food waste, delicious recipes include every day ingredients that cost less than $5 to make and are all under 500 calories. Enter below to win this informative book!
