ENDED - Office Depot Foundation - National Backpack Program - GiveawaySeptember 19, 2014Disclaimer: I received two sackpacks to facilitate this review. No other compensation was received and all opinions are mine. Most children look forward to the beginning of a new school year, my daughter sure did, my son took a little pushing, but this is his first year in kindergarten. They both had their big backpacks on, filled with school supplies requested by the school. Can you imagine what it might feel like for families where money is tight? This is why foundations like the Office Depot Foundation are so wonderful and important for our communities. The Office Depot Foundation plans on donating 350,000 sackpacks this year to children all over the 50 states, including Puerto Rico and a number of other countries through its National Backpack Program, now in its 14th year. The National Backpack Program provides sackpacks, like the ones pictured below, to kids in need. The specially designed sackpacks come in seven bright and colorful designs that are new for 2014, all kid-friendly graphics, without any Office Depot Foundation logos – except for a removable paper tag. Each sackpack includes a zippered pouch containing a pen, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, six-inch ruler and four crayons. By the end of this year, Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation will have given away more than 3.3 million backpacks and sackpacks since the National Backpack Program began in 2001. website, also on facebook, twitter, and you tube.
