Justin Roberts Recess

Grammy nominated Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players are coming back to Massachusetts in October. Grab your kids and join me and mine at The Center for Arts in Natick for a fun filled family concert of brilliant upbeat songs and ballads that are so much fun and enjoyable you will encourage your children to learn the words.

My family and I have been enjoying Justin Roberts latest masterpiece: Recess. A 12 song CD that will have you singing along in no time with catchy lyrics and beats you will want to hear over and over again, at least we do. It is a perfect CD for the car that everyone can enjoy, young and old, the kids love it and my 72 year old Mum likes it too! Already Grammy nominated for the CD: Jungle Gym, we all have no doubt Recess will bring it home! This CD includes a cool pop up robot and secret website details as well as a lyric sheet (All his CD's include a lyric sheet, which I love.)

Also a favorite CD of mine is lullaby, a beautiful collection of well written and timeless heartfelt lullabies that would be ideal for the start of Motherhood and on. This one would make a fantastic present for new parents. Perfect for late night and long road trips, my family and I enjoy this one a lot, especially the song Polar Bear for me. This CD features members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra that flatter Roberts softer rock side beautifully.

Justin Roberts has been entertaining families all across America for many years now. Encouraged by his students (when he was once a preschool teacher) to record some of his songs, it appears he never looked back and thank goodness for us because we have a multi-talented singer songwriter to enjoy with the whole family.

We went to see them play earlier this summer at Club Passim in Cambridge, what a fun time! They were brilliant! The Not Ready for Naptime Players compliment Roberts with drums played by Gerald Dowd (who rocked the coolest cocktail kit) and bass/keyboard by Liam Davis (who amazingly plays both simultaneously at times), both throw in a few fun surprises at the show. They are not to be missed!!

Hope to see you in Natick on the 13th of October - Buy tickets here - They sell out quickly!

Other local shows include:

Camden Opera House in Camden, ME on Sat, Oct 12; and

Symphony Space in New York, NY on Sat, Nov 16.
(2 shows, 11AM + 2 PM - playing as a five piece band)
