The Biking Game by SchwinnJuly 13, 2015
Disclosure: I received this game complimentary for review purposes only. All opinions are my own. When I was younger, I would love to jump on a bike and go for a ride around the neighborhood. Nothing compared to the wind smacking me right in the face. lol I was constantly smiling. I loved it! I recently started riding again with my kids, it is a great family activity, one of my favorites!
"That exhilaration has been captured in a new board game, The Schwinn Biking Game, where players race to be the first cyclist back to their parking spot. To advance your bike around the board, each player must roll the dice to see how many spaces they can move and then answer a trivia question about bicycling correctly to earn another roll. Each trivia card has four difficulty levels of questions so players young and old are challenged by the game.
The Biking Game was created to inspire families and bike enthusiasts to get outside and enjoy one of America’s greatest recreational activities together. The game is designed to grow with the player, starting at level one questions, which are primarily identification of basic bike parts and riding etiquette. As the players increase in their knowledge about biking culture they grow into the higher level questions. A fun & educational game where parents & children can race to see who can get their bike through multiple terrain and back home first."
Take your game piece, "Bike Pawns," from the start, "Parking Spot," down the trail to get back home.
Each player chooses a level between 1 to 4, then rolls the dice, starting with the youngest, players who land on the yellow circles attempt to answer from the Biking Game Question Cards, if they land on red, the dice is just passed to the left to the next player, and if you land on "Go to Schwinn Bike shop" then you head for the shop and read out a fun fact. There is also a Schwinn Off-Road tires card to award a player for answering a question card with the tire symbol on correctly.
My game piece was hard to choose, with fun Schwinn classic's like their: Town & Country (love the three wheels and gorgeous basket :) Also, the Debutante, "Grey Goose" Sting Ray, and Tigress, eight in all to choose from. The game takes about 30 minutes to play, learning some very interesting facts along the way and a great teaching tool to offer your kids about the wonderful activity of biking.
