In our home, we are pretty lenient with the kids when it comes to watching TV, playing video games, and computer time, maybe a little too lenient. But, in my mind, I am trying to teach a little self control. Sure enough, after the television has been on for a little while, they will not bother watching it and move on and start finding other things to do. So nothing beats me turning the television off and listening to them playing together. It is my favorite type of play: free-style. The kids seem to have the most fun playing this way too, judging by their giggles!

My daughter is fantastic at finding creative things to do, but, it can sometimes be short lived. Soon enough she is looking for something else to play with or to do. My son is brilliant at playing with his toys, he has been since he was a toddler. But, we all love it when we have something we can all play together. That is really what the kids want - interaction with their parents and friends. So, three cheers to Carrom Games for providing a good old fashioned game of Table Top Skittles.

The well made Carrom game of Table Top Skittles is a classic game, fun for the whole family. The object is to knock down as many pins as possible with the spinning top to score points, with each pin scoring a different point value. If you look closely, it almost looks impossible to hit the big scoring points at the top, inside their little boxes. But we did it, well my daughter did, and it was a whole lot of fun to watch the top spinning all sorts of ways! Lots of fun.

Our first friendly family game, my six year old girl won by amazingly achieving all three top boxes, resulting in the highest score. (she had been practicing spinning the top a little before the game, to get the hang of it, and picked it up quite well!) The rest of us did ok. It took a little time for my five year old son to manage the top, but he got it and we immediately played again. I am excited to find a spot to permanently display this fun game, so visitors can give it a shot in passing or to have available for parties. Thank you, Carrom for inspiring a Game Room.

As we know, it is always fun to unplug and play with our children, every chance we get. It reminds us all to have fun and laugh with our kids. We should do it as often as we can, and especially on
